Find a location that is a reflection of your lifestyle. Think about your favorite places, whether it's going to the local cafe or spending time in the mountains. Somewhere you feel comfortable and is important to you. If you have any questions or would like some suggestions on locations, don't hesitate to ask, we can collaborate together if you're having troubles narrowing it down or you're new to the area.
Day or Night
It's definitely a challenge living in Las Vegas, you've got the heat and then you've got the heat. It's a challenge that we can overcome during your session! The best time, regardless of location, is always in the morning or about two hours before the sun hits the hills. Clouds are not a contender for canceling a session unless the rain is drenching the ground. Umbrellas are gorgeous in photos, so know that we can always work with the nature provided!
Hair & Makeup
Your photo session is your time to shine! If you're looking to strut your self with a new haircut or a new palette of make up. Make sure you get your haircut (or color) a few weeks in advance, just to give the powerful color some time to settle naturally and your hair to soften from the sharp edges. Practice your make up to a level of content for yourself. Lots of water before a session (week or two) will help to keep the skin happy and healthy for your session.
Kiddos
When you're booking your session keep in mind the times of day that coincide with naps and meals. Full bellies and restful eyes make for lots of energy to capture the great youthful expressions. Bring toys, different outfits, shoes, whatever you want to bring that will help them be comfortable and happy. We'll play games, sing songs and turn the afternoon/morning to a great time :)
Clothes
Comfy clothes are preferable! We're going to be out and about for over an hour, so shoes are something to consider but don't let that slow you down if you're favorite pair of shoes are pumps! You'll want to avoid clothes that can be distracting to your face, bold patterns, logos or lettering. Solid colors or simple patterns are recommended to capture the moment instead of the clothing. You're always encouraged to bring several outfits to swap around in for different sittings.
Adventure & Pets
A bike ride? Maybe a trip to the zoo? Memorable hike through the woods? Any of these options are absolutely ideal! Planning an family adventure and capturing it on film are great ways to keep those wonderful moments frozen for years to cherish.
Pets are always welcome, portrait sessions alone or with the family. Bring some treats and let me know, they're always considered part of the family!
